Recovery runs (with friends) are the best!

Today’s run was 12k at an EZ pace. It’s so crazy to think that just a few months ago, 12k at any pace would not have been a “recovery run” at all, never mind runchatting the whole way!

The run was slow and steady ranging between 6:10 to 6:30 min/km and I was reminded of a quote that I read on Instagram:

No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch!

Thanks to these Ninjas for coming out tonight!! You guys are the best!! 😍

Nutrition log:

  • Pre-run: apple and banana 2 hours before
  • Mid-run: granola bar*
  • Post-run dinner: Milo with milk, seafood pasta (from Costco), Chinese soup

*Even though it was just over an hour of running, I brought a granola bar to practise eating during the run (and also because I just wanted an excuse to eat one! 😄 ). Since I had to take off my gloves to unwrap the bar, by the time I unwrapped it, I was barely able to feel my fingers. Bottom line: it was delicious but it was definitely harder to eat than a sesame snap.

  1. I’m so glad you got into this. It’s nice to have people to run with. Reading about your progress is just as nice as seeing it. That quote got me over the hill (So did visualizing some generic person eating spoonfuls of Nutella while sitting on a couch asking me why I run)

I was not going to run to Sheppard station, but did because you guys did. Thanks for the push. #chasingJoyce 😉
