Today’s RunNinja run was long, cold and windy. We ran to Black Creek Community Farm which was having a maple syrup event. #yum
At about 10km into the run, I felt a dull pain in my lower back, similar to what I felt in the last 2km of the Chilly Half. The only thing that kept me going was the promise of pancakes with maple syrup at the end of our run!
The pancakes and the hot (slightly sweet) tea at the end really hit the spot! π Thanks to MEC North York for giving us the free pancakes!
My kids even met us there – pancakes for everyone!! π

Moving forward, I’m going to pay attention to this lower back pain. I’m okay now but I think this is an indication that I need to stretch more. DON’T BE LAZY!
The good news: Week 2 is in the bag! π
Nutrition log:
- Pre-run: half a PB&J on WW bread, untoasted, about 45 min before
- Mid-run: half a granola bar, water
- Post-run: 2 pancakes with maple syrup, 2 cups of sweet tea, the other half of the granola bar
