Start of Week 3!

The plan for today was similar to last week’s tempo run: 3k warm-up, 2k tempo, 3k cool-down. I wanted to do the tempo part slower than last week because I thought last week (5 min/km) was too fast.

After the first 500m of tempo, my pace was 5:10 and I thought, I’m still going too fast, I should slow down. But at the same time, I felt great. So I thought, whatever, I’ll just run this pace and see how long I last. Ended up finishing strong with a 5:16 and 5:05 pace for those 2 km’s. Does this count as a negative split?? 🤣

Thanks Dave for running with me and for the rest of the @RunNinjas for coming out! Next time we will take a photo at the beginning so we don’t have to photoshop anyone in! Although I’m kind of jealous of Parm’s mad photoshop skills! 😄

Nutrition log:

  • Pre-run: 30 almonds 2 hours before, cinnamon bun 1 hour before (couldn’t resist!)
  • Mid-run: water
  • Post-run: minced pork with spinach, cinnamon bun, pears

I baked it, I get to eat it! 😁
