Progress is oh so sweet

Last year, I did the CN Tower Climb in 22:44. For someone who didn’t do much training for it, I was pretty impressed with my time (the average person does it in 20-40 minutes). This gave me motivation and kickstarted my journey back to running.

Today, almost exactly a year later, I climbed the CN Tower for the second time. My goal was to be faster than last year and my stretch goal was to get a sub-20. I did it in 18:44 – I improved by 4 whole minutes!

It’s so encouraging to see my hard work paying off and to feel my body getting stronger and fitter. The best part is that all this hard work hasn’t been hard at all, thanks to the North York RunNinjas!

To celebrate my PB, I made my own CN Tower dessert: Strawberry shortcake topped with strawberry sauce, home made vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream for extra height! Yum! 😄

Nutrition log:

  • Pre-climb: bagel with jam and cream cheese
  • Mid-climb: nothing
  • Post-climb: water, tiny muffin, yogurt, apple
  • Post-post climb lunch: Chicken Parmasan leftovers and strawberry shortcake 🍰 pictured above! 😄
