Ready for the apocalypse

Ice pellets, meet eyeballs.

Eyeballs, meet ice pellets.

That was the kind of Spring weather we had today. I kept on thinking that I would be the first person in history to be blinded by ice pellets and wished I had worn my sunglasses despite the lack of sun.

I had to do 18km today. When we got back to MEC, we were only at 14 km. I was glad that a few ninjas ran an extra 5km with me so I didn’t have to do it alone. By the time I finished, I was drenched from top to bottom. Rain was running into my eyes, my jacket was soaking wet (note to self: buy a rain jacket for running) and my socks made squishy sounds. I’m definitely not a fair weather runner anymore.

And as if ice pellets hitting your face was not bad enough, we also did a lot of hills today. How can it be that we just went up hills but never down?? 🤔 Whenever I run a hill, I tell myself that this will make me stronger for The San Francisco Marathon which is notorious for its hills. Having this mindset really helps me push up those hills. Running is really a mental game.

Apparently, we ran so fast that we were a blur. I guess we are trying to run away from the apocalypse! 😄
