My inner monologue

The weather has been so weird. It was so hot the day before but yesterday was super cold, I had to wear a long sleeve shirt! It was just Lisa and I so we meandered through the neighborhood to look for cherry blossoms. The very first tree that we saw was the best one. I’m glad we took a picture there.

We meandered our way to Finch and went into the trail. We ate a lot of bugs in the trail. Gotta love the bugs, more protein! 🀣

By the time we got back to Bayview Station, we had only done 9.7 so I needed to do another 2.3 on my own.

Here’s my inner monologue:

Me: I should just run straight home.

Other Me: No, you should run home the long way so you get to 12k.

Me: I’ve done enough for the day. 10k vs 12k, it’s only a 2k difference. I practically ran 12k today if I include walking to and from the subway between home to work.

Other me: If you don’t do 12k today, it’s a slippery slope. It opens the door for you to cut your distance on other training days.

Me: I’m supposed to be tapering for Sunday.

Other me: You don’t need to taper. You are not going to the Olympics.

Me: The pad thai at home is calling my name.

Other me: Just because Lisa isn’t running with you, doesn’t mean you can cut corners. Besides, Strava never lies and the pad thai will still be there after 2k.

Me: Fine. You win.
