Yesterday was Victoria Day. A bunch of us ran from The People’s Church to Mel Lastman Square because there was a community event to celebrate #TorontoStrong and to remember those who were impacted from the van attack that happened about a month ago.

By the end of the run, Parm’s knee was in a lot of pain. He was limping down the stairs when a random stranger stopped and asked if he was injured. Turns out she is an acupuncturist from a clinic called Complete Balance at Sheppard and Leslie. She showed him where to press on his arm to relieve the knee pain. He said it really worked! Acupuncture is amazing!! Thank you random stranger, I hope we will meet again some day!
At Mel Lastman Square, the skating rink was converted into a giant chalk board/art canvas and Parm was determined to create a masterpiece while we stood there and watched him. Some kids decided to join in which was annoying at first because they were “ruining” the art. But after a while, I actually thought it was very endearing because some kids were trying to imitate what Parm was doing: filling in the letters and drawing bubbles and hearts to make a border. So cute!

Unfortunately, I ended up getting a sunburn on the back of my neck because I was standing in the sun for the whole time. I always tell my kids to put sunscreen on the back of their necks. I guess I should follow my own advice! 😣
