Since I haven’t blogged about Monday’s run, I’ll blog about both Monday and last night’s run here.
Monday
I did a 4km pre-run and then did 2x5km loops with the People’s Church crew. The first loop, we were basically chasing Dave and, importantly, Rishi kept up with us the whole time! Rishi has improved so much!
Lisa, Tracey, and Susan ran a bit slower but apparently, Susan did really well too. It’s so great to see improvement in so many people!

After 1 loop, Parm, Dave, Rishi, Susan, and Tracey decided to call it a day. Tracey ran the half on the weekend so she had an excuse. Lisa and I ran a second loop so it was nice to catch up. Seems like we haven’t runchatted for a long time.
Wednesday
Our annual work party was at 6-11pm. Instead of skipping last night’s run to go to the party, I asked Jeremy if I should run first and go to the party a bit later. He was totally supportive of me going running before the party, so I did. I’m grateful he’s so supportive of my running. I totally feel the badassery of fitting in a 8.5km interval run before going to an evening work event! One year ago, this would not have been part of my consideration set.

We did 600m intervals β 5. It was quite humid when we started but, thankfully, it started spitting so it cooled down significantly toward the end. The thunderstorm that was forecasted never happened.
Here we are flipping the bird in honour of Sally who has now moved to Ottawa. She will always be with us in spirit. π

I got back to the store and went home right away to shower and change. An hour later, we were at my work event! I’m proud to say that I have continued my no alcohol streak since Easter. It feels great!

Nutrition log:
- Pre-run: nothing
- Mid-run: water
- Post-run: jerk chicken with rice, lamb skewer, ahi tuna poke bowl, pizza, brownie, ice cream, churros
Good for you for the no alcohol streak & and amazing fitting in a run before your work event ππ #dedication #selfcontrol #progress
