I’m doing the TTF Olympic distance relay tomorrow. TTF will always have a special place in my heart because it’s where I caught the running bug again, after a 10-year hiatus from running.
Last year, out of the blue, I asked Charlotte if she wanted to do a triathlon relay with me. To my surprise, she agreed to bike and we found Loretta who could do the swim. None of us had any triathlon experience, the two of them had never done a race of any kind before, and I hadn’t run in almost 10 years. Nevertheless, we entered as a relay team 4 weeks before the race. Ignorance is bliss and the rest is history.
The moment I crossed the finish line was the exact moment I caught the running bug again. I had forgotten how good it felt – the adrenaline and endorphins are real! The huge surprise was we ended up placing 3rd in the women’s relay division! We had no idea that was even possible! 😂
Sadly, Loretta is not part of our team this year but we have a new swimmer, Erik, so we are part of a co-ed team. I doubt we will place again but the great thing about this year is that we have a few other P&G teams and individuals who are doing it together. It’s going to be so much fun to cheer everyone on!
We met up at the race expo today to pick up our bibs and to cheer Erik on in his practise swim. Look at him rocking the pink swim cap! 😍

It’s a flat course and I don’t have Lisa chasing me so it won’t be a PB but I’m still hoping for a sub-55 min 10k tomorrow! We’ll see what happens!
Nice! I can come chase you if they’ll allow me on the course 😉
But ya don’t need me, 10 km is now a walk in the park for you!
