2km time trial #fail

Yesterday we did a 2km time trial. Sadly, I didn’t beat my time from March. I was a bit disappointed but I’m trying to tell myself that it really doesn’t matter, so just get over it. Like I’ve said before: I’m not going to the Olympics.

Then today, I saw an IG post of someone who was rejected by the Boston Marathon because, even though she BQ’d, she missed the cut off by 77 seconds. I feel so sad for her. What if that happened to me??? πŸ˜“πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜₯😫😭

They also just announced that the Boston qualifying times for 2020 will be 5 minutes faster than this year’s qualifying times. That BQ is going to be even harder to achieve! 😣πŸ˜₯πŸ˜«πŸ˜”πŸ˜

Sorry this is such a depressing post.

On a more positive note, we celebrated Jim’s birthday yesterday. Benson and Gillian managed to pull off a totally surprise pop-up party. It was great to see Jim’s reaction. I love this running community!

Jim also awarded Roger with the Wednesday night champion of the world belt. Roger started running when he turned 50 last year and he’s now training for his second half. What an inspiration! Maybe this post isn’t so depressing after all!

I need to remind myself of my favourite running quote:

Running is a celebration of what your body can do.

So who cares about a silly 2km time trial! #havefun #runhappy #tryagainnexttime #nobigdeal #runtoinspire πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜„πŸ˜…

  1. It really is no big deal!! You’ve improved leaps & bounds as a runner & that should be celebrated! I’m still trying to figure out what on earth a time trial even is πŸ™ˆ is a jury or judge involved? Do I need a an attorney or do I just plead innocence or ignorance πŸ˜… yes, ignorance is bliss 😎😎😁

Yes, the -4:52 cut off for Boston was crazy this year! I had a -5:03 buffer and thought that was plenty. In hindsight now, that was only 11 seconds. Could have been just one water stop or half a washroom break. 😳 Now at another 5 mins lower, qualifying for Boston will be harder than ever. This could be my only one so I’m gonna enjoy every minute of #Boston2019!!

Yes, just being able to simply run is a gift from God.
