The Unwritten Code of the RunNinjas

Now that I’ve been part of the RunNinjas for a year, here are a few unwritten rules that I have observed for this group.

  1. All are welcome… Except you might get left behind and totally lost if you can’t keep up with the pace. Don’t worry – you will get better if you continue to show up.
  2. Show up on time. The group isn’t going to wait for stragglers.
  3. There is one leader. Just follow like a lemming. It’s the best.
  4. Don’t listen to music while you run. You are expected to chat with people.
  5. Be positive. No one needs to be reminded about how hot the heat is, how wet the rain is, or how cold the winter is going to be.
  6. Celebrate each other’s achievements – big or small. A small achievement for you may be a huge achievement for someone else.
  7. It’s acceptable (maybe even encouraged!) to compliment someone when they have gotten noticeably leaner from running.
  8. It’s totally normal to talk about taboo topics like diarrhea, bladder leakage, nipple chaffing, etc…yup, totally normal.
  9. Smile for the photos. Selfies are mandatory.
  10. You must celebrate everyone’s birthday. Just kidding… This one is only applicable for Lisa. 🀣🀣🀣
