Four in a row

I’ve been doing a Nov Fitness Challenge with coworkers this month. The goal is to lose weight by doing cardio, strength training, eating 3 fruits and 4 veggies, and by stretching/relaxation. Here’s the chart we are following.

I’ve been pretty good at doing all these things but sadly, I haven’t been able to lose weight. πŸ€” I am trying to convince myself that I have gained muscle and it has nothing to do with my lack of self-control in what I eat. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

While it is disappointing to see that I’ve actually GAINED 1kg since the start of this challenge, I’m also so extremely proud of the progress that I’ve made in crosstraining and strength training.

On Friday, I went for a solo run while Ainsley was at art class because I had missed the Thursday night runchat. It felt okay to run alone. Although I still prefer to run with people, I don’t dread running solo as much as I used to. I ran a good pace considering I was by myself. I drew an almost perfect square on Strava.

On Saturday, I had half a PB&J sandwich as my pre-run breakfast which, surprisingly, gave me lots of energy even though I didn’t sleep well the night before. Lisa and I ended up running the ~13km route at a 5:30/km pace. It was my fastest time running the trail and it felt great.

On Sunday, we went swimming and I swam 50 laps in ~35 minutes. I’m pretty happy with the progress that I’ve made in the pool since we started swimming at the end of Aug. I could barely do 20 laps the first time we went! After swimming, Lisa joined me for a 9km run just cuz we are badass like that. 😊

Tonight, I ran 7km with the People’s Church crew even though it was quite rainy out. At least the temperature was a balmy 6C. β˜”πŸ˜Ž

It feels great to do 4 in a row. The fitness challenge has definitely been a great motivator!

Now if only I can lose a few pounds… πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
