Half Marathon training plan – Week 1 Day 2

Here we go again! Another training cycle!

The Ottawa Army Run will be our fall goal race and we will be doing the Commanders Challenge which is a 5k and then 21k. Jim is putting together a training plan for us and today was the 2nd day (first run day) of the 12-week training cycle.

We bumped into Tracey, a fellow runner, on her way to see Dr. Gill at MotionCare Clinic. Perfect timing. We asked her to take a photo of us twinning. 😂

We were supposed to run 60 minutes at easy pace (5:29-5:59) according to our plan. My watch was set to elapsed time instead of timer so I had no idea how long we had been running for. We stopped when we hit 10k but we were just under 60 minutes. Our destination was the Earl Bales Amphitheatre which had a free concert happening so we stopped and watched for a bit. Then we still had to run an extra 3k to get back to Lisa’s house. Oops! Need to change my watch settings to timer and get better at planning routes based on time vs distance! 😂

Looking forward to following this training plan for the next 12-weeks! It’s gonna be a hot one! 🔥🔥🔥
