I used to be uncomfortable with calling myself a runner. I would always say, “I run, but I’m not a runner.”
Over the past few months of running consistently, I can now proudly declare that I AM A RUNNER!
Here is how I would differentiate a runner vs a non-runner:
Non-runner:
- Signs up for races but barely trains for them
- Has no idea how to train properly
- Does not run on a regular basis
Runner
- Can’t stop talking about how running has changed their life
- Always thinking about their next training run and their next race
- Plans their life around training and races
- Tries to convince others to join them for runs
Yup, I’ve become a runner.
Run log:
Tonight’s run was a consistent EZ pace. As always, the first 5k was harder than the second 5k. Thanks to Strike-A-Pose Ninja (Lisa) for the runchat! 😄

Nutrition log:
- Pre-run: PB&J sandwich, Milo with milk 2 hours before
- Mid-run: water
- Post-run: Vector cereal, water
