Today’s 3 part run:
- Pre-run: 5km run to People’s Church at tempo pace (5:00 – 5:40 min/km)
- Beginners run: 4.5km walk/run with Nicole. Week 2 of C25K app: 5 minutes of brisk walk, 90 sec jogging, 2 min walking for 20 minutes.
- Bonus run: 5km runchat with Lisa. Average pace 5:46 min/km.
I needed to do 10k today so when I got home from work, I stuffed myself with whatever (unhealthy) snack I could find in the kitchen and changed into running clothes. I had to get to The People’s Church by 7pm so I mapped out a ~5k route in my mind and hoped that I was not too far off. It worked out perfectly. It was just over 5k by the time I got to the church at 6:45pm. I’m getting pretty good at estimating distances! Running 5k on my own didn’t even feel that bad.
Two people showed up from the North York Women’s Walk, Jog, Run FB group. Galia (not pictured here) ran a slow continuous. Nicole and I did Week 2 of C25K. Susan also came out again which is great!

After doing 1 walk/run loop with Nicole, Lisa and I did a “real” loop. ๐๐๐ I hadn’t planned on doing an extra loop and wouldn’t have done it if Lisa didn’t want to do it. This loop felt much shorter than the first 5k that I did on my own. I’m glad we did it!
At the end of my run, I saw a rainbow!

- Pre-run: banana bread, scone, chocolate chip cookie 15 minutes before
- Mid-run: water
- Post-run: Chinese donut/rice roll, turnip cake, pineapple, strawberries
