Happy runniversary to me

Wow, where did Sept go?? It’s already October 1 which means less than 3 weeks to #STWM. We ran our longest long run (32km) on Saturday. We did a pre-run to the Rainbow tunnel and then ran with the Ninjas to the reservoir. We averaged slightly faster than our target marathon pace (6:03/km) so that’s a good sign.

Sept 30 also marked my 1-year runniversary of joining the RunNinjas. A year ago, if you told me that I would be running more than 200km/month, that I would complete 2 half marathons with an almost sub-2 time, and that I would run a marathon, I would have thought you were completely crazy! But that’s really what happened this year along with so many accomplishments and memories!

I’m so thankful for all the people I’ve met this past year through running. You are the reason that I have fallen in love with running again. I look forward to many more km’s, races, and memories to come!

Nutrition log:

  • Pre-run: 1 piece of bread + jam
  • Mid-run: 2 Endurance Tap, 2 fruit to go, Gatorade
  • Post-run: peanut butter and banana sandwich, milk with milk straw

  1. You had milk mid run??? Where do you get the milk straws from? I used to get them but don’t see them anymore… Totally Montreal bagel convert! I finally had one today before the kids finished the 3rd bag! I prepared half after dinner & ended up going back for the second half ๐Ÿ˜…

  2. Those are great accomplishments Joyce. Glad to have witnessed some of that, and the hard work you put in. I remember running with Joyce, until it became “chasing Joyce” day. Keep on pushing. ๐Ÿ™‚
