Runner Problems vs Real Problems

Runners have some very unique problems. Just for fun, I attempt to compare and contrast runner problems vs real problems to put things into perspective.

—————————————————-

Runner problem: I haven’t run in 3 days, I’m so out of shape.

Real problem: I haven’t run since highschool, I’m so out of shape.

—————————————————-

Runner problem: My socks don’t match my shoes and my shoes don’t match my outfit.

Real problem: My socks don’t match.

—————————————————-

Runner problem: I need to wake up at 6am for my run.

Real problem: I need to wake up at 6am to feed my kids breakfast, make their lunch, get them to school, go to work, come home, make dinner, put the kids to bed, then do it all again the next day. When is there time to run?

—————————————————-

Runner problem: I need to get my 30km long run in this weekend.

Real problem: I need to do laundry this weekend.

—————————————————-

Runner problem: I forgot to turn off my Garmin.

Real problem: I forgot to turn off my stove.

—————————————————-

Runner problem: I signed up for too many races this year.

Real problem: I binge watched too much Netflix this weekend.

—————————————————-

Runner problem: It’s dark outside. I hope I don’t get run over by a car.

Real problem: I just ran over a runner.

😂 This list is awesome! Inspired by my current, allow me add to you list…(I tend to do that, eh? 😉)

Runner Problem: I have a race this week. Carb loading is hard work!

Real Problem: I miss carbs. I haven’t eaten carbs for year b/c….(insert many reasons)

A few more to add to the list after my race today…

Runner problem: I can’t decide if I should run with a hat or my gloves.

Real problem: I can’t find my hat or my gloves.

Runner Problem: I didn’t run a PB (or BQ) today.

Real problem: I have to run how many kms for a marathon?!!!

It was tough race today. Wind and rain. And in the end I just ran out of gas. Then I met a fellow at the end of the race who fractured his hip a year ago at the marathon. Went through surgery, rehab and came back to run again this year. Amazing! I have nothing but thankfulness after that.

  3. Runner problem — I can’t find my knee length socks to run… I can’t break the routine. Can I actually hit this pace?

Real life problem — If you see me running, you need to run too… Someone is chasing after me!
