2400km and then some

Jim always comes up with great ideas to make our runs fun and meaningful. Because it’s our last RunNinjas run of 2018, he took us to “Resolution Cres” and then got us to share our running goals for 2019 when we got back to the store. It was fascinating and humbling to hear everyone share their goals. It reinforced to me how everyone is on a different journey but we are all there to support each other.

I needed 13km to get to 2400km today. We ended up running exactly 13km. What are the chances? Ta-da! I got to 2400km! 😁

After all was said and done, Jim asked if anyone wants to join him for a few more km’s. He’s trying to get to 5500km for the year. Somehow, I ended up agreeing to run with him. I guess I’m a glutton for punishment. πŸ˜…

We ran the 5km route that I used to run before I joined the RunNinjas. I ran it yesterday and I was amused that Strava tracks and compares my time each time I run it. It’s cool to see how much I have progressed since 2017. What a big difference!

So assuming today is my last run of 2018, I ended up doing 2405km. 😁 I’m so proud and grateful that I’ve been able to run so much this year. My family has been so supportive. I haven’t gotten any serious injuries. I’m part of an amazing runcrew. The list goes on!

And as if running 18km wasn’t enough, I also went lane swimming in the afternoon while the kids went leisure swimming. It really wasn’t because I wanted to do more exercise. It was mainly to get my kids off their devices.

I ended up swimming 64 laps (1600m) in 43min which is the most I’ve ever done! I’m so proud and grateful for my progress in swimming!

After all the cardio, I’m looking forward to a nice restful sleep tonight!
