Pretty happy about my training this week.
On Sunday, I dragged myself to the pool. It took every ounce of self-discipline to get there because no one else came with me. When I got to the parking lot, it was full. I thought about just driving home. I’m glad I didn’t. I swam 60 laps (1.5km). ☺️
On Monday, Ravi paced me for a 40-minute tempo run. Tempo runs are a new addition to this training cycle and I’ve been pretty happy with them. I’m lucky to have Ravi pace me because I don’t think I’d be able to maintain the pace (~5:10) for so long if he wasn’t there to push me. 😅 I must say though, it’s pretty humbling/discouraging when I see other women on Strava posting easy runs or long runs at this pace. I wonder if I can ever get there…🤔
On Tuesday, I did a spin class to cross train. So boring. 🙄
On Wednesday, we did 800m repeats. It was hard but good. 💪
On Thursday, we did a 12k recovery run where Parm talked the entire time. It’s like running with a radio. 😂
Friday was a rest day. ❤️
Today was the longest run before #atb30k. Jim planned a 15km scenic tour of downtown but because I wanted to do 27km, I started at 7:15am and got in 12k with Maggie and Vincent before the group started.
We ran down Bayview extension (note to self: don’t do that again), up Pottery Road (huge hill!), Chester lookout (nice view), Chinese archway (just ok), and to Queen street bridge (on last year’s STWM medal).
We finished with a stop at Timmy’s and I won a free coffee from Roll Up the Rim!
Afterward, we subwayed back to the store and Amy brought us wife cake from HK. So good!
3 more weeks until Around the Bay 30k!

Way to go Joyce!
